The last two weeks have been a whirlwind with the holidays and treatment. I am just now catching up. My goal is to write at least weekly. You can subscribe to the blog and get notices for new posts. Just enter your email under the subscribe to blog portion.
Celebrating Christmas
Family means everything to me so being able to go home and see them was wonderful. We had a full day of fun with my cousin, his wife, and their kids, and my aunt and uncle. I love getting to catch up with them all. Sadly I normally only see them at Christmas, but we will work on that. I wasn’t brave enough to ditch the hat this day. I also learned that alcohol really doesn’t taste good right now.
Then there was my immediate family’s Christmas. We had a lot of fun catching up over a few days and celebrating my sister-in-law being pregnant! Good news always offsets any bad news. We had so much fun talking about names, how to design a nursery, where to go for a baby moon, and more. I can’t wait to meet her in June!
We also spent the time ensuring the dogs stay separate. For some reason they have never gotten along. It is cute though because Callie will look around every corner before she walks to ensure the coast is clear and then books it for the nearest couch. Maybe one day they will just get along and realize they like to play.
I felt mostly normal during my time at home and during my 14 hour trip back. I really enjoy my off weeks. I even got out to run when I get back to Colorado at McIntosh Lake. I made it the full 3.4 miles around the lake, although at a much slower pace than I am used to. My goal is to keep active even if walking is the best I can do.
It was a wonderful Christmas week!
