I took advantage of feeling good this week to socialize as much as I can. I know I have been told that the next 12 weeks will be easier than the first 7, but I wanted to enjoy every minute of feeling good thanks to the non-treatment week before the unknown.

I was told that 90% of people handle the Taxol portion of my treatment better than the AC portion. This makes me so happy, but I still have my doubts. I am more of a pessimist by nature because I would rather assume it will be bad and then be happily surprised when it isn’t. My brain is already thinking this will be a piece of cake, so sadly I am not approaching this week with that attitude. I will be very sad if this isn’t an easier portion. I know the side effects are slightly different so I guess we just have to wait and see.

So instead of thinking ahead, I tried to enjoy my “good” week. Last weekend was a little rough and I was just super tired, but I kept myself busy. Being mentally ok but physically exhausted gives me plenty of time to work on my Disney travel agent work. I was able to help 4 different groups last weekend with their vacations and loved it. I hate feeling lazy, but at least I have something to work on when I am just too tired physically. Not to mention I adore helping people with their vacations.

The rest of the week was spent having dinner with friends, book club, Shoes & Brews run, company holiday party (yes it was a little late), running more, and hiking. I will say that Callie is exhausted so I guess we kept busy.

Highlight of my week was finally being able to join my friends on their weekend run. I haven’t been able to join since October and I miss these runs so much. They were going 10 miles, but I was at least able to join for 2 miles before I turned around to finish with 4 miles. I love running because I get quality time with my friends. If you hate running, just find some friends to run with and I promise it becomes more enjoyable. Hoping to be able to join them for Old Man Winter 10k in two weekends, but will have to wait to see how this week goes.

Beautiful art along the trail in Longmont
Love the views of Long’s Peak while running on a beautiful day.

Finally rounded out the week with a wonderful hike with Em on a 50 degree January day. Lefthand Canyon did not disappoint.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the dr last week was super happy with my progress. The lump is hard to even identify anymore meaning the chemo is doing exactly what we wanted it to do. Time to finish it off with 12 weeks of Taxol!
